Is there a toilet in the venue?

Unfortunately we do not have a toilet in the venue the nearest one to us is in Vanbrugh Nucleus just outside of Vanbrugh Arms (VBar). 

Is there a bar?

DramaSoc does not operate a bar however the Student's Union has a bar in Vanbrugh Nucleus called Vanbrugh Arms (VBar) and we encourage patrons to go there during the interval and after the show if they're looking for somewhere to catch up with cast members.

Is there a cloakroom?

We do not offer a formal cloakroom service but depending on the busyness we may have some room to store big bags if needed. However we discourage you from bringing bulky items because we cannot guarantee storage. There is room under your seats to store items such as bags or coats.

How long is the intermission?

The interval is approximately 15 minutes, doors staff should advice you on when to return to your seats. We ask that patrons leave the venue during the interval to allow cast and crew to work at height in the interval, something we cannot do with patrons in the house.

How do I find out about content warnings?

Content warnings should be listed on all tickets and ticket links, however if you have any queries please email us at dramasoc@yusu.org

 

Can I buy tickets on the door?

Yes, ticket prices are the same everywhere so you can either buy online at yorkdramasoc.com/tickets or on the door.

Are seats assigned?

No seating is not assigned it is done on first come first serve basis, if you have access requirements let us know and we can arrange reserved seats for you. 

Is there a latecomers policy?

Unfortunately we operate a strict NO LATECOMERS policy due to the nature of the venue we cannot let people in during the performance without it being a distraction to the actors and other patrons so please arrive with time to spare.

Is there air conditioning?

We currently do not have air conditioning however due to the nature of the barn it is quite cool during the summer months.

Should I bring a cushion?

You may bring a cushion however we've recently refurbished our house seating so they're a lot more comfortable, and feature a backrest!

Are non-uni people welcome?

Yes, we welcome everyone! We only ask that children under the age of 18 are accompanied by a responsible adult.
